did anyone else see that “fact” that Schlittler’s effort was the first time anyone threw 8 or more innings, giving up zero runs while whiffing at least 12? I’m pretty sure that’s what they said. Not true, in any case. Bob Gibson pitched a complete game shutout vs Detroit in the 1968 WS, K-ing 17. Kevin Brown pitched 8, struck out 16 in the 1998 NLCS and Roidger Clemens had a shutout and 15 Ks in the 2000 ALCS.
Still, great game for the rookie tonight. Now I can root for Toronto to sweep the Skanks.
Yeah but there is no comparison bc the Angels donât develop players. So Early may have languished and become nothing. Talent is just one part of the equation.
Now that the Padres are out, I hope the Brewers win it all. However, I won’t be watching another minute of baseball until Halo’s spring training starts.
There is college football, NFL and all levels of hockey for the next several months.
Guardians have made it to the playoffs three of the past four years, and 7 of the past 10. Not much to complain about.
Meanwhile, the Tigers were a 66 win team only three years ago, and have made it to the playoffs two years in a row. Sweet little rebuild you got going there, Detroit.
Guess that Kyle Tucker trade, which seemed rich at the time, is working out for the Cubs. Got a 4.5 WAR player who hasn’t disappeared in the playoffs. Houston out, Cubs likely off to the NLDS.
Now that I know how much âgitchoâ here hates Trout, I love Trout even more. Trout needs to retire here, at least after another extension (five years should do nicely).
Nothing anyone says here has any bearing the actual ball club. We chat about what we hear in the news and share idea on it. I donât agree with a lot of people here, but I have learned a lot.
Most of us that do go to games get the tickets dirt cheap on an App. I enjoy watching a game in person a few times a year and wonât stop doing it because it puts a few bucks in Arteâs pocket (I did pass on going to the last series of the season for that reason though).
How horrifying would it be if people didnât go to the games and Arte moved the team away? I love having an MLB stadium less than 10 minutes from my house. I donât care what shape itâs in because I have fun, regardless if they win or lose.

No walks. Their stat could still certainly be wrong but it included giving up zero walks.
Yes thanks. I missed that part
Yankees are moving on.
F_ the Red Sox and their dumbass fans !!!
Next round should be fun. All 4 series
Schlittler does not resemble his name. Not even a bit.
(7th round pick.)
Dude is a STUD. What a performance
Fully developed by the NYY system. Never would happen in Anaheim.
Both of these rookie pitchers in the BOS-NYY series make me sigh for what the Angels do not got.
Early was a fifth rounder drafted only two years ago, four picks after Chris Clark.
Would’ve been a 1-0 game still without 3-4 suspect defensive plays behind him last inning.

In Early’s case, West Point and Virginia had something to say about it. He was pretty polished, and at AA within a year of drafting.
I think Boston really knows how to develop young bats, but have a good eye for collegiate pitching.
No way to know but Iâm guessing the kid doesnât improve as an Angel.
Gotta draft well to know. Perry’s Angels mostly draft relievers and fringey swing guys where NYY and BOS drafted Schlittler and Early.
The Padres got hosed so bad by the home plate ump.
If the rest of that inning plays out the same they tie it on that fly ball and still have a man on base for Tatis.
It was quite egregious.
Go Brewers đş

Go Kings!
there it is. Now to root against both the Sux and the Skanks
Hoping for a tactical nuke strike?
that’s a little too much! I’ll just root against the winner of this game in the next round
I thought safe
Out, and not close
Cubs aren’t gonna blow this…are they?
San Diego fans know this scene – itâs called Chargering !
đťâšď¸đĽ
well that was ball 4, not strike 3
I was about to post for Merrill to just get on base.
That will work i guess
which is better? 72-90? or winning your division and then losing in the ALDS? Yeah, you’re right.
Just a different thing to bitch about. đ

Padres running out of outs.
yep. Needed to get at least one here and now there are 2 outs, runner still out there
and now he’s left on base

Bye Bye Cleveland.
Go Tigers đŻ

Double Play Padres was pretty much essential đ
Cleveland making it interesting.
Did we win?
Oh wait . . .
Cleveland?
Oh waitâŚ
