Angels at Mariners Game 4 Gamethread

Last game against Seattle for the year. The old schedule felt like we played division games all the time. This schedule feels like we don’t play each other enough.

5th in HRs, 20th in runs scored, 1st in Ks. Still not technically eliminated although I haven’t scoured the schedules of other teams. It could be that there’s a situation where teams play each other so some team or another will have more wins than we can get. Actually pretty likely.

Can we start a K O’Meter, like a telefon board, to track the K total, with the magic number to break the all time record?
Next game, will be over 1,500.

History every day!

Double history today – first time in MLB history that a team has been struck out 13 or more times by the starter in back-to-back games.

We witnessed it!

Moniak is having a huge day in San Diego, 4 for 4, two homers, 5 ribbies

Trout may as well take the rest of the season off. Another 3 K’s? And from the leadoff spot. Whoever thought that was a good idea needs to seek help.

They probably want him to get #400 first, homer,Homer, not strikeout

exactly! Once he gets to 400, he’s as good as done. You can book the “Trout to IR with ________ (insert injury name here) … he’s day-to-day” … then doesn’t come back this year. Golf with Tiger Woods … profit … WINNING.

Had to work today, so I just checked in on the so called game. Disaster it seems. We did go the extra mile in the strikeout department though.

The A’s are one inning away from finishing off the Reds, with the Angels loss today, our boys will officially be in the cellar.

In sports, either be very good or very bad. Problem is, we use draft picks to select players expected to be drafted 10+ positions lower

When the management is touting “meaningful games” in September, I’m not sure they are referring to last place.

The Angels, including through six innings today have 1,491 team strikeouts this year, with Trout and Ward accounting for 324 of them. The Angels have an excellent chance of setting the all time K record. I expect the Brewers pitchers to significantly up the Halos total.

To paraphrase Tommy Lasorda referring to Kurt Bevacqua: “The Angels couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat.”

Do you really think if no significant changes are made the Angels will be able to get enough people in the seats next year. At least if they make changes they have all kinds of excuses for a while.

Yes, or they would’ve stopped coming years ago?

So there is no hope until Arte sells or passes away.

That’s what I think. Maybe in a few years he’ll get addle-brained and forget he owns a team which will let a GM have freedom to build

If I’m Neto, there is no way I sign an extension unless it’s a huge overpay. He’s gone as soon as he can leave which is in 4 years.

One good thing about losing seasons.
Cheaper ticket prices in September

We will not be denied. We have a talent issue but does anyone still believe we should be keeping our hitting coaches?

We have some good HR numbers but that doesn’t match up with expected runs and definitely doesn’t match expected wins.

If the goal is to win games then change is needed. If the goal is to have acceptable game attendance then we’re sunk

I believe you are correct which makes me sad.

In a losing season, changes need to be made.
Get rid of coaches.
Trade players and/or don’t re-sign players.
For Angels, do both
