Postgame Loss 7-3

This was a tough game today. The Orioles went out in front 1-0 thanks to Adley Rutschman. The Angels came out and scored two runs in the first but the Orioles reclaimed those runs in the fifth inning. The score stayed close.

Some scoring, bros! Doesn’t happen every day. Taylor Ward was useful.

In the top of the sixth inning, the Angels gave up another run with a wild pitch by Connor Brogdon and you could feel the game slipping away. Emmanuel Rivera scored on a sac bunt and Gunnar Henderson homered to score another two. 7-2 Orioles. Sorry mom! That’s a lot of defecit to overcome.

And now we come to the intense innings. The bottom of the eighth started off with a Zach Neto strikeout. Not auspicious. Yoan Moncada grounded out to first. Jorge Soler also struck out.

The Orioles did nothing in the top of the ninth inning, leaving the Angels to score a mere five runs to tie the game. Taylor Ward grounded out to third. Logn O’Hoppe wasted no time about lining out to right. Matthew Lugo cam in to pinch hit for Jo Adell. He homered, Bro! 7-3. It may have been too little too late, but it was something to write home about.

Kyren Paris struck out to end the game. The Angels lost 7-3.

Bad defense made meh pitching look outright horrible.

Bad base running made a bad offensive day much worse.

Man. I wish we had Joc Pederson….

Let’s list the standard CtPG Guy complaints!

Perry idiot.

Wash. Stupid.

Arte. So evil.

There. Now we know what to do.

We aren’t gonna win the Super Bowl this year.

Then again, neither are the Steelers.

I realized today, watching the game at a mom’s day BBQ, I am tired of Mike Trout. I kinda don’t give a shit if he comes back.

Keep stuffing that pen with crap veterans till the farm kids suss out a little Perry. Then we can call some of them up and complain about them.

I’m starting to doubt Tim Anderson will ever hit. It’s a bummer cause he’s really put in the work at 2B. Getting his ass kicked just broke his brain I guess….

Man. If we lose 100 games this year I’ll be able to tell kids I was here for the crash. Way more legit than complaining about being 5 games out at the end. I’m gonna get a Black Letter font tattoo of 2025 on my neck or something….

I miss Eric Wagaman….

If we draft Doyle with the #2 pick I may drink myself to death.

I fkin hate our uniforms.

Dear God, make me a bird so ah can fly fah fah away….

What I like about your posts mocking the same old fan complaints is how you recycle your same old mockery, making it super fresh as if we’ve never read it before.

I don’t know… Much like Zimmerman, I often find myself more confused after reading his writings than before I started.

I’m convinced Ward plays left field with ear buds in listening to a book on tape day dreaming about unicorns. He certainly isn’t paying attention to the game

Rockies have not produced a blue chip prospect for some time. In the last decade, they have drafted many OFs, nothing to show for it yet and its not looking good. Maybe Condon can flip the script. Chase Dollander should be decent. That Kris Bryant signing was odd when it occurred seeing that Rockies were not close in competing. He just sucks now. They are mirroring the Angels. Not the managers fault but blame falls heavily on the FO, bad management.

16th rank prospect from 2020. You’re right, he still cannot be counted out. Picked right before Angels selected Detmers and two picks before Crochet.

I wonder if they have their version of Tootie who keeps posting head shots of Crochet since Crochet is, indeed, a pitcher they didn’t draft.

Tootie loves Farhan who drafted Patrick Bailey that year, not too many picks after Crochet

Schaneul stats thus far
2 hrs 9 RBIs vs Steven Kwan 4 hrs and 17 RBIs and he’s a little LEADOFF TABLE SETTING GUY. How about this organization start cutting ✂️ their losses a lot sooner and admitting their mistakes…. Anthony Rizzo and Brandon Belt still out there!!!!

Not fair here, Kwan plays for a better team with better hitters behind him. I’m not a big fan of Schanny, but he is still one of our better hitters compared to others in the lineup. This team needs help in others positions before pointing out Schanuel. Rengifo, Ward, and Adell come to mind.

I am ???? on Shany. Exit velo is up. OK. Nice. He’s sort of started hitting, but is far from gangbusters yet. But hey, there’s still like 120 games left, so I’ll wait and see what happens. Give me a .340 OBP with 15 HR and 30 doubles this year and I’m all smiles and will be thinking he can get better from there.

I’d like to see him get his average up and spray line drives if he wont hit for power. Still waiting but clearly, no other option exists in the organization. #FREE SCHANNY

Yeah, I don’t see what the obsession with HR’s is. I mean, early in the year we led the league for like 2-3 weeks and look where that got us. Nowhere. The difference maker is OBP. And guess what? That’s right, we’re LAST.

4 of the top 5 teams in OBP share something in common — they’d all be in the playoffs if they started today. And the 5th, the Cardinals are only 2 games out of the wild card. So, all the people calling for more HR’s from Schanny, you’re looking for the wrong thing !!

Wait…. your whole thing now is “Nolan Schanuel is not as good as Steven Kwan?” Yes Tootie. Nolan Schanuel does not have the 5th most WAR in baseball right now. In fact, the list of guys with less than Kwan includes everyone but Judge, Tatis, Witt and PCA. Even though Kwans power surge is probably more Paris than Judge he’ll still have way more WAR than Nolan cause Nolan’s at 1B… and that’s if Nolan hits well the rest of the season.

Still plenty of time to cut bait on Nolan after his 2nd season is over. Or third.

Good Tootie. Very good. When does the “He’s also not Juan Soto” take arrive? You can’t even stir shit right.

Nah. Soler is blame of the game for having his head up his -ss. If he doesn’t get thrown out there the Angels have a big inning and the entire complexion of the game changes. Most chess matches are not lost at checkmate. This one was like that…

Connor Brogdon, 2025

AAA: 12.89 ERA, 29 hits, 6 HRs in 14.2 IP

MLB: 12.27 ERA, 6 hits, 2 HR in 3.2 IP

Who woulda thunk? (Not Perry!)

Here’s what ChatGPT said about the Angels in 2025:

In the 2025 season, Los Angeles Angels general manager Perry Minasian has been given the green light to increase spending, with owner Arte Moreno directing him to build a contending team. Minasian’s focus for 2025 includes evaluating the young core and potentially adding depth. The goal is to make the Angels a competitive team in 2025, potentially surpassing expectations if the young players make a significant leap.

It is what we heard during the offseason, not sure there is anything untrue. Kikuchi, Jansen…and the, “we want to compete” annual objective was thrown around.

Jesus man. You’re pretty smart. You’re telling me signing Kikuchi and Jansen looked to you like PeArte were pushing in the chips and getting ready to go toe to toe with the Texas teams?

Do you really think the guys in our FO are too stupid to do a position by position list of “they have we have” and see we were not really gonna compete this year? Cause ten year olds can pull that off.

They knew last October we weren’t competing this season and I know you’re not stupid enough to honestly believe they thought otherwise because “Dey said it in the newsess.”

I was really looking forward to the game today after last night’s,but here I am again really dreading the next one. Lugo seemed to give them aspark last night with that triple so why not just sit him down today so Paris and Adell can fan the park on a warm day. At least Lugo got an at bat. Homerun.Wow

A right-hander on the mound as well… I understand that you need to rest players, but Wash doesn’t have a good sense of WHEN to do that.
