Shohei Ohtani started tonight’s game against Zach Plesac. Things went about as we might have expected. Jose Ramirez took Shohei deep in the first inning for a two run home run. Taylor Ward doubled on the first pitch he saw for the Angels. Ohtani advanced him on a sacrifice and Mike Trout doubled to drive him in. Anthony Rendon then singled to drive in Trout. 2-2 Angels.
In the second inning the Angels loaded them up and Taylor
Ward hit a grand slam to make it 6-2 Angels. This Taylor Ward guy might actually be good. Who Knew?
In the 4th inning Jared Walsh singled in Taylor Ward to make it 7-2 Angels. Shohei Ohtani went five innings to be eligible for the win. Oliver Ortega came in to pitch the 6th inning and beyond.
In the sixth inning Taylor Ward tripled with one out and then Shohei Ohtani doubled him in. Mike Trout then doubled Ohtani in. It was 9-2 Angels.
In the 8th inning Andrew Wantz came in to replace Ortega and gave up a single to Ahmed Rosario. Jose Ramirez homered to drive in Ahmed Rosario and himself. 9-4 Angels. The Angels made out in the bottom of the eighth to make it 9-4 Angels in the top of the 9th inning.
Mike Mayers came in to finish the game out with a 5 run cushion. He allowed a one out double to Luke Maile to make things interesting. He then allowed a single to Andres Giminez to make things all too interesting with Guardians at first and third with one out. Myles Straw sacrificed in Luke Maile to make it 9-5 Angels with 2 outs. Luckily, Andres Rosario grounded out to end the game and preserve the Angels winning streak. You can put a halo over this one! Light that baby up! The Angels are winning ball games.. How did that happen?

We can use some Butter
Let’s just say Buttrey.
“Butter” has a lot of painful connotations and is only missing three small letters to make it a Cup.
Y?
By the way – I think Ohtani showed his mettle tonight with a complete lack of control over his secondary pitches. He battled using primarily his fastball. Great pitchers do that. They find ways to get outs when things aren’t going well. Ohtani ends up with the win and a double and a single. That’s a decent night considering.
I went to whatever they call the Guardians SB Nation page. Not many comments there. I wonder if it’s a trend around the league. Anyway, so then I went to Halos Heaven to see if anybody at all comments there. I should have known. I think I recall seeing that they’ve shut it down. Funny! It’s ’cause we’re all here!
So, 1st place. I figured we wouldn’t know what we have until we’ve played 40 games and maybe that’s true. Still, tomorrow’s game will mark, approximately, the 1/8th mark of the season. The older I get, the faster the season goes by.
Is Lookout landing still active?
Active and still complaining about Kolonic.
In reply to Nori Aoki’s Route Tree
Yeah, Kelenic’s the one I’m more interested in seeing in Tacoma or on the bench when Mitch takes the field again.
Thats good. Having our adversaries raging will only make CTPG that much stronger.
Damn. They shut Halos Heaven down.
We won! Turned that place into a ghost town lmao.
And holy shit they ruined the comment section with an update. Doesn’t seem much better than here now.

RIP
If I recall, Francona seemed to own Sosh for years dating back to his Boston days. Soggy Joe doesn’t seem to have that problem and hes faced him multiple times with his upstart TB Rays teams.
He DID own Sosh. He managed circles around him in the 2004 playoffs (despite the fact umps screwed us repeatedly in that series).
He also outmanaged Sosh the other years we faced Boston in the playoffs, up until the time we finally beat them. There is no question that Terry was a much better manager than Scioscia.
I would say for a 3-4 year stretch Francona was the best manager in the sport.
It is nice to exact some revenge on the Indiguards now since under Francona they have hurt us in recent years. Of course, as you say it is Maddon doing the winning against him, not Soth.
It will be tough to sweep tomorrow. All that good white hot MoJo working for us….You need to give guys rest, but you know Soggy Joe will Soggy Joe the line up tomorrow. Trout probably resting, Adell in Left Marsh Center, probably Vazquez auto out at SS….Maybe rest Ohtani and bit the bullet?
Besides we have “Super Ward”! F’ it! We probably win anyway!
Detmers is due.REALLY due
Would love LOVE a sweep. But Detmers has not shown the ability to finish off batters even after getting significantly ahead in the count. As such, I’m not counting on beating a patient team like Cleveland tomorrow. Hoping but not optimistic.
Yes, but at the same time so is the Indians offense (yes, I know I said “Indians.”)
You know I’m not that sure that wholesale changes will be made to the lineup as Joe doesn’t want to lose the momentum going into the next series. Mike will play because of his Daytime Numbers, and they sleep on the plane and go after the Pale Sox and we win that series. Joe wants to keep this team winning and heading for 90+ wins.
News update: Brandon Marsh is a guy.
😂😂😂
LMAO
Get that man a potholder! Makes me nervous diving head first into second with bare hands!!
Well tonight sure showed the Lineup’s potential. Capt. Jack did not have a hit but had one run scored, and a walk, reached base on an error. Every one had a hit, the top 3 batters killed the Guardians. One more early tomorrow, and I hope for the same line up we had today.
We don’t do same lineups!
Also JoDell have an at bat without a hit.
Should have qualified with starters.
Taylor gives us 1 Ward Grand Slam and ReWards us again tonight with another Grand Slam!
And a bleedin’ triple that led to another run.
That dude was all over the place tonight.
If Taylor Ward keeps this up is he going to challenge for MVP? All Star maybe, anyway.
I was nervous in the top of the first inning, I won’t lie…
At that point I was worried I picked the wrong night to give up sniffing glue.
We are winning.
While the Orioles pick right before Blake was let go last week. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/04/orioles-designate-dj-stewart-for-assignment.html
I’m certain that the poster-who-must-not-be-named will not post a pic of Stewart.

Doing the Ward Shuffle tonight!
Angels Win!
