LA Angels Monday News Crash: 16 New Guys

The Angels signed 16 international free agents over the weekend. They couldn’t resist going for outfielders.

At least the warring parties got in a full hour of talking on Thursday.

The sad news is out that the recent death of the Tampa Bay Rays bullpen catcher, Jean Ramirez, was by suicide. If anybody out there is struggling with this kind of thing, this link is to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. People are willing to help.

Nationals pitcher Seth Romero was arrested for DUI in Texas recently.

Job Postings

The Boston Red Sox are looking for a Pro Scouting Assistant.

The Atlanta Braves seek a Baseball Development Analytics Engineer.

Here are full and part time internship opportunities with the Oakland Athletics.

With NFL Playoffs, local teams doing well in college basketball, Australian Open, Super Bowl, European Premiere League, LA Kings and cannot wait for the run up to March Madness…baseball owners and players can strike until April. Not even a crappy Laker team can make me whine about the millionaires striking.

The Reddit dude drawing Trout made it to ESPN haha.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/33057404/drawing-mike-trout-every-day-lockout-how-mlb-fan-tribute-turned-internet-sensation

A league source told ESPN that Trout is aware of the ongoing art series, but Trout did not respond to a request for comment.

As they seem to be getting hornier by the day, i’m thinking he won’t comment.

I mean…

I don’t know about you but I’m getting angrier by the day that they’re not resolving this.

Nothing will be done today because of the MLK Jr holiday. Expect a MLBPA counter on Tuesday or Wednesday with a possible meeting again on Thursday or Friday because of the shortened week. They are probably at least 3 weeks out from a full agreement, as the last proposal from MLB just touched on some of the issues / framing of an agreement.

I was hoping all the International signings would be pitchers too just for fun.

Those signees sounded fine but The Athletic had a story that highlighted the signings of about 15 clubs – the Halos weren’t one of them – did a tree just fall in the forest?

Even if they get it figured out in the next four weeks I don’t think they’ll be letting fans anywhere near practices unfortunately just like last year …..

and if China Olympics have a zero-tolerance Covid policy too, well good luck with that

It was sad to see our former beat writer showing love for the Doyers 2 top 50 signings but no mention of the 2 top picks of the Angels

And it looks like the Angels signed 3 catchers that they can convert into outfielders so this is a great day.

Good morning, NFL had a good weekend and still one more to go tonight. Rams vs Cardinals promises to be entertaining. Next weekend will feature Bills vs Chiefs in KC. As Dickie V. would say, “Awesome Baby, just Awesome.”

Outfielders, who needs Shortstops or pitchers anyway. Jeez.

Time is money, so how is the shape of the table anyway? Chairs comfy enough for maybe 10 hours? I’d offer bring in the clowns, but to some that is apparent that the clowns, Manfred in particular, have arrived. They’s got them their brief cases snapping open, them’s just luvin’ that thar’ sound feelin’ ‘portant and all. “Gentlemen let us not waste time, Yo Tony have you got anything to add? No? Finish your Folgers’ boys and hit the brick and see ya all next week.”

Olympics coming up and the hurry takes a backseat for 2 weeks. March cost the players nothing, only the lonely (owners) and their minions will start to talk of shutting down the season to scare the Player’s. Watch and learn kiddies, How to fuck up a good thing in less than 10 easy steps.

Still a sayin’ it, Fans are goin’ ta pay dearly for the greed being witnessed here.

An hour a day keeps the season away :/

Can they really get their coats and jackets off and papers out of briefcases in under an hour? Now that’s some piece of dedication. Neither side gives a damn.

I’m just waiting for someone in those meetings to test positive for Covid and delay the whole thing a few more weeks.

The sad truth is that the meetings are virtual

On a positive note, a virtual meeting that lasts an hour is like three or four face to face.

That may be the saddest attempt at optimism I’ve ever heard 🤣

Excuse me but we’re Angels fans. We got the market corned on sad attempts of optimism.

Wow. Didn’t know that. Then there’s really no excuses for how little they talked so far. Jeez.

You mean only in their heads?

This is going to take awhile.
