Only one more in Oakland, but that doesn’t wrap up the long weekend in the Bay. San Francisco tomorrow and Tuesday. Last week’s Sunday Night Baseball umpire, Erich Bacchus, is behind the plate today.
Angels Lineup: Gosselin 7, Ohtani DH, Rendon 5, Lagares 8, Walsh 3, Suzuki 2, Ward 9, Wong 4, Fletcher 6. Quintana 1.
A’s Lineup: Canha 8, Chapman 5, Lowrie 4, Olson 3, Pinder 7, Murphy 2, Moreland DH, Piscotty 9, Andrus 6. Irvin 1.
Good game lads
Suarez! Oh my goodness, we had some actual pitching today. Quintana looked pretty dammed good too. Who are these guys? When did competence start showing up here?
who knows if Q will pitch well in the future but I think Joe did a good job in bolstering Q’s confidence by letting him get out of that inning.
Character building win!
Aight guys I’m out.. gigantic dub
Nice. Splitting the series is better than losing it.
Wow getting a split and not scoring a ton!! That was a great last 2 games to be apart of
Go angels!!!
Well done gents! Spines intact!
YCPAHOTO!!
Wow, we split that series. Didn’t think that was going to happen.
split! Ok. That’s better than being swept, ain’t it?
I definitely will take that.
There were those calling for a sweep in the pre series thread and especially after the first 2 games so the last 2 haven been a pleasant surprise
if I didn’t say we’d be swept, I certainly thought it.
LTBU!!
So that’s that.
D-Cell!!!!!!!!!!
::A wild save appears::
t-t-t-t-t-two
No problem! We have a closer.
A closer who gives up lead off hits.
This guy makes it interesting in closing situations and downright unbearable in any other one
Ohtani is due.
Pujols, instead of GIDPing to end the game, just homered. Boo!
Wow people here still pay attention to what he does huh?
yes. We want him to do worse there so he can be released again.
Apathy is the greatest tool against….
You do you which is great!
But also expect a few dozen people here who comment, let alone the lurkers, to care about former players. Especially ones as polarizing as pujols
And nowhere did I tell you NOT to look at Pujols.. see how that works?
I’m more of commenting in general as to how this group talked crap about pujols for years and now all of a sudden I see interest in him
we were always interested in how bad he is in his old age and we’re equally interested in the same, today.
I’ve been interested in him for 10 years now. Always wanting him to do well. Mostly underperforming especially if it relative to the last 3-4 years on field performance.
We like to multi task here…..
revenge is a dish best served cold
Meanwhile we have a great game going today. I checked to see if Pujols was in the lineup before the game and didn’t pay attention since so appreciate the heads up here. I would’ve looked it up before the end of the night anyway
I’m in favor of the mocking. Our revenge against Albert, poorly phrased. I’m pro hating on him

And let me clarify I always wanted him to well while mostly venting my frustrations that he didn’t perform up to my standard
I think we agree
?
always wanted him to do well with us, even in the end. With him now gone, its fun to root against and him going to the Doyers added to the interest.
Its all part of being a fan. Go Angels! Boo Albert!
I was actually thinking a little bit today about fandom and not liking certain players (money tends to be a big player and it’s about performance not off field charities) and wasn’t sure what to think… like are you siding with the player when you still ‘root’ for them even if they hold negative value to your team? Are you siding with management/FO in not liking them if they don’t do well?
All in all you nailed it. I don’t like the dodgers nor Pujols so easy to root against them and I will passively pay attention for the remainder of the season most likely. Also getting taunting texts from dodger fan friends every time Pujols does something good is annoying. Having counter material to send is always good (for me).
My counter to all Doyer fans.. 2002 WS Champs!
You 1988. Ha!
But then 2020 happened…..
Not sure 2020 really did happen. At least Not outside of a laboratory
Yes I pay attention and watch if it’s not blacked out. I watch Padres and a few other at bats/games of interest during the week too.
It is either home runs or nothing for him.
Was something like 6 for 32 before last 3 at bats (double off kazmir, HR off LHP, now a HR today as PH… good for him)
.942 OPS vs. lefties this year and it will only go up after that HR
Did you not see his double the other day?
Sigh. Resigned to him being competent, so the only option forward is for us to make the World Series and beat the Dodgers.
Worst to first story sounds just fine by me
Kurt Suzuki/Anthony Rendon the catalysts
BALLGAME!
(By definition)
What’s the rush on here to say ballgame at any particular point in the game? Not even after the actually game is over or if you score/let up 10+ runs in an inning have I even considered the door is closed, butter is cold sort of talk.
I’ve been doing this for years in here.. now of all of a sudden your commenting on this because you don’t like what I said in another convo
I don’t even pay attention to who I’m replying to oftentimes lol. You’re all good. This is the first time I’ve commented on a ballgame one. You’re all welcome to do it whenever you want. I’ll just go back to not commenting or caring when it’s done.
