The Angels optioned several guys, including Jo Adell, to the minor leagues. Franklin Barreto is shut down for four to six weeks due to elbow inflammation.
Pitcher Arm Injuries
Zac Gallen, right handed pitcher for the Diamondbacks has forearm soreness he got while in the batting cage. Blue Jays right hander Kirby Yates has a flexor Pronator strain in his throwing arm and will miss multiple weeks. Rangers closer Jose LeClerc will miss an extended amount of time with elbow soreness.
Links From Around Baseball
Salvador Perez got an $82 Million extension from the Royals over the weekend. CJ Cron made the MLB Roster of the Rockies. This tweet gives some details on his contract at the major league level. A security guard at an Astros game (versus the Marlins) banged a trash can before every pitch of an Alex Bregman at bat. Bregman struck out looking.
Pitcher injuries while batting are yet another reason the universal DH will be here soon.
I do find it odd that pitchers don’t hit in College or the minors but are somehow expected to do so at the MLB level. With predictable results.
Trashcan Security Guard…
“… in the batting cage”. Is that what the kids are calling it nowadays?
Glad to see Adell out of camp and onto the minor leagues. Now he needs to work his butt off on D. Let’s hope he does and we see a different player next Spring.
tickets go on sale this week:
Article talking about the 154 angels games BSW will be covering this year along with announcers and other information that’s mostly known.
BSW just sounds so f***ing weird. I’m probably gonna just stick with calling it FSW.
Agreed. I’m still good with Prime Ticket.
Wondering if the channel(s) is going to be included in any of the classic cable packages (youtube TV, Directv, etc) or if it’s going to be like a Paramount+/BleacherReport/DAZN subscription.
I hope someone gave that security guard a raise.
