Bleacher Report thinks the Angels are a good fit in a trade for Blake Snell. The return package they suggest includes Jo Adell, Jeremiah Jackson and William Holmes. Hey everybody! Jaime Barria is our most promising building block. That is, as long as he doesn’t pitch like it’s 2019.
Who Is Available?
Hunter Renfroe cleared waivers because nobody thought he was worth $3.5 million in arbitration. He is now a free agent that the Angels could try to pick up on the cheap. He’s a right fielder with some pop, but a pretty crappy on base percentage. The Rangers are in line in front of us for waiver claims or we might have ended up with Aramis Garcia as a catcher. Thomas Eshelman is dangling out there ready to be traded, waived, or released. He is that extreme control pitcher I discussed in my article about grabbing pitchers in the Rule 5 Draft on that other site a couple of years ago. He coughs up a lot of home runs so he is not the top of the rotation guy we are all hoping for. The Diamondbacks released Junior Guerra, who does not have much control. Robert Stock, who also lacks control, is designated for assignment. Tomoyuki Sugano will indeed be posted. He’s another right handed starting pitcher to add into the mix.

I say yes. Jose coaches with the Halos and Albert is an ex-teammate. I really like Yadier’s mindset on the baseball field.
Just can’t see him leaving the Cards, and a little surprised the team would inquire if the asking price is near the ~$10 million per MLBTR. For that money you may get James McCann, younger and more than capable offensively/defensively.
That said, it would be fun, and he is a leader.
Hard pass. We’ve overpaid superannuated Cardinal ex-stars enough lately. I don’t think Molina has much left in the tank and it won’t be the best use of scarce resources.

I am thankful for my family’s health as we have all dodged the bullet so far. I am thankful that the right folks stepped up to take on this master enterprise called Crashing the Pearly Gates and that so many of us moved in here to call this home.
