Angels coaching is the worst. Myers not the tying run and Ward was playing barely in front of the warning track.

What is this 1985? Multi inning saves two days in a row?

We need to draft 10th, we don’t need no 9th.

I’m a firm believer in the once Pujols is completely off the team this team can take off. Yes his payroll space will obviously be nice. But how can you say you are trying to contend when your actions of starting Grandpa and being ok with his 279 OBP from a purely DH/lousy 1B speak otherwise. The whole team sees it. How much energy does it drain from them. It’s like having the coach’s son hit 4th. Hard to have a cohesive team when everyone knows the elephant in the room and has to go one acting like the King’s new wardrobe is amazing. Just release him.

Our starting pitching has the ability and potential to win every start, but do they, no. Our starting pitching for ten years or more has one or two reliable starters out of 6-7 or 8 guys that can possibly start every year and one will work out and one will be Ok maybe and one will be a surprise and the rest injury or get sick or suck. Not one of our starters has had big years much less several big years to be called an Ace. Every year we our looking for reliable starters at a bargain and that just does not work. We need at least one big name to show the way and the rest may follow. As for the pen that is tough because one guy has a decent season and comes back injured or just can’t pitch. Look at anyone we have or had in the last 15 years and the pattern is the same. Pena, Bedrock, Barria, Robles, Butters, Noe, you can’t name one of the present or the past 15 yrs that has put 2 seasons back to back of strong numbers. This year Pena is very good, but next year or last year?

I’d take a gamble on him if the price is right. Doesn’t look like SD will be bringing him back.

Same. Stroman, Bundy, Richards, Heaney, Canning with Barria representing the first wave of depth works for me and costs the same as just Bauer.

Mayer threw 2 innings yesterday and now he’s out pitching again in a meaningless game? I just gave Maddon some credit but man this is stupid.

I think it is because we’re nearing the end, and he’ll have months to rest his arm. Obviously he won’t be pitching tomorrow and probably not Thursday either.

he’ll have months to rest his arm unless he needs TJ like Middleton did when he was hot and Soth used him as his favorite toy even after he came back from elbow soreness.

The other thing you are forgetting or not mentioning is that Mayers was not used much early this season.

You have to look at the accumulated innings he has pitched, not just the last two days.

Stassi is looking like a legitimate starting catcher. He’s not going to do this forever but his calling card is defense and he now has a solid approach at the plate.

Pena looks good out of the pen, Meyers cutter has changed his career, Walsh is on fire but looks like an MLB first baseman. Barria looks decent. Maybe we found some pieces in this lost year.

One thing Maddon is doing that Scioscia never did is he’s giving rookies a legit f’ing chance. Ward and Walsh playing most days while they are hot. I love it! Adell playing mostly everyday even when he was struggling. I love it. With Soth it was a running and TRUE joke that whenever a rookie did well they’d ride pine the next day. I think Wood rode pine the day after his only multihomer game.

It’s the only way to get the taxi squad guys any real and interesting reps, plus this team wasn’t going anywhere when they were first called up and we traded away the players that they replaced. We needed them, and they produced, mostly. That gets you playing time.

The other thing is that Maddon does not continually keep playing a player who fails time after time after time, like Scioscia always did; with Mathis, with Wells, with Steve Finley, and on and on.

As everyone is aware I am Fletcher’s biggest fan, and he is a very good SS, but Simba is one of the best in MLB history in fielding at Short. I am angry about not re upping Simba.

Unless Andrelton signs a real nice team friendly contract, he can move on. Not worth the down time that will only grow with age.

He is way too aggressive, talented, but not athletic. He plays hurt, which means that he is always ailing, and those days will add up.

Simba missed two similar balls a few days ago. Maybe the opt-out deadline was on his mind.
