Angels News
Jesse Sanchez from MLB.com wrote about the 5 players with the best hit tool in the AL West. Can you guess which Angels made the list? Mike Trout also is on the list of only 5 players who have hit 50 home runs and stolen 50 bases by their age 21 season.
Shohei Ohtani is nearing readiness to face live batters. Only problem is, social distancing requirements have made that difficult.
Baseball Cancellations
The Texas League has cancelled their All-Star Game. Amarillo Sod Poodles will now host the 2021 game at Hodgetown. The Eastern League also cancelled their All-Star Game. I imagine more will follow soon…
The Cape Cod League has cancelled their season altogether. Over 1000 former players from this league have gone on to play in MLB.
All the other stuff
The Athletic has a pretty solid guide to craft beer ($$$) at MLB stadiums. It’s an older article but worth pointing out. I can say with pretty good authority that this list is pretty accurate. This past weekend we were supposed to travel to the Midwest to visit the LAST 3 stadiums in our 30 team MLB stadium tour. Coronavirus had other plans…
Noah Vaughan crushed the ball his wife Riley pitched to him. It was complete with an unnecessary bat flip. I think she knows what to do next time.
Baseball is thriving in Taiwan.
Vin Scully is back home from the hospital. Good news for the 92 year old.
Kenan Thompson unleashed the Big Papi Cooking Show on Saturday Night Sorta Live.
Super bummed about the Cape Cod Baseball League being cancelled, as this is our last full summer here before our next move… may extend a couple months though to let my oldest kid finish the school year (ending in June, should there actually be school again).
Hoping that the increased infection rate indicated by fledgling antibody testing is a positive indicator for the baseball season (and reopening) happening earlier than previously expected. Certainly looks like it’s trending in that direction. Still, need a plan to contact trace and identify cases to prevent a second wave.
Lotta talent in this photo
And they’re all wearing pants!
MVP = Most Valuable Pants, even though they’re optional
The Giants are Frank Robinson, Joe Morgan and Vida Blue, I think.
Looks like we might be able to watch more live games soon, probably during the wee hours of the morning.

This has to happen. I will be there. Even if it is EastSPiN. I mean, that’s so East that it’s West!
Awesome! Terrific news.
