LA Angels Monday News Crash: Blue Week Opener

Sorry folks! There is not a lot of good news today. As of this writing there’s still no word on the test results for Charles Barkley.  Andrew Heaney is holed up in his Arizona rental for now, but he’s contemplating his next move.  The MLB players have been given the option to stay at their spring training home, their regular season home, or their offseason home.

Meanwhile, the Angels option Jaime Barria, Kyle Keller, Anthony Bemboom, José Quijada, and Taylor Cole to Triple-A…because that had to be done now.

What if Albert Pujols was a Phillie?

Reports are out that the start of baseball may be delayed until Memorial Day weekend.  Others are saying the delay might last until June.  There won’t even be organized group workouts.  Disorganized workouts, though, are still on the table as Trevor Bauer organizes a wiffle ball game to benefit MLB game day staff who are not getting paid.  Now the MLB players themselves might end up not getting paid.

The Baseball Hall of Fame is closed.  We’ve had our first player test positive for coronavirus, a minor league player from the Yankees organization.  Transactions can still happen. Hunter Strickland ends up in the dumpster.

Can you imagine if this gets worse and social media platforms shut down? Then Americans would be left home alone with their thoughts….. all kinds of self reflection and honesty could happen….. that’s not good. Thank Goo there are so many season’s of South Park on the net. We’re saved!

Not only are we going to miss the better part of the year for baseball, if not the entire year, but we are missing a year of Mike Trout’s prime.

All I can say is what a great time it is to unplug from all the madness by not watching tv, listening to the radio, or searching for anything related to a little virus. Get out and go hike, go to the beach, your local park. Listen to your favorite music and be Thankful! Smile and Wave to a stranger.

I would venture tp guess that Maddon will stay in Tempe, as he would be quarantined in So Cal.

Maybe with all that is happening we may hope that time is given to providing better food option to the stadium, just a thought on a slow day……elbow bump, lol……..hey you, the one coughing, get back by 6 feet so l can enjoy my beerish with green dye……….oh wait, the bar will be closed and l won’t wear my green St. Pats shirit…….that’s a wee bit of the damned don’t you think………does this mean that Cinco de Mayo will be cancelled?……. just making light of a bad situation here guys, don’t unglue here……….While l don’t hang out in bars l do have a “watering hole” and it may not survive closing down for months and that seems a bit harsh to me………..easy now with that elbow bump as l bruise easily………will bars have drive thru?…….probably not……dang, just an idea………

Yeah it seems like all these closures and restrictions aren’t going away any time soon. They are still in the getting worse/more restrictive phase. Optimistic about baseball in May but I suppose that may not happen either. Ugh. Covid-19 can suck it.

2020 just really fucking sucks.

On the bright side, i’d say we probably start the season healthy…

Imagine if they could pull off a 4th of July Opening Day.

We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Opening Day!

I don’t think the season will start until after the All-Star break.

Someone stole the sanitizing wipes in the front of the grocery store for wiping the cart handles. The tape showed it was a flat lander, non locals yelling at the folks stocking shelves and finally stealing from one cart to another when the first shopper was looking for something to purchase. Thank God it’s Friday and these folks are leaving the mountain. Calling for a foot and one half of new snow which is very rare for March so bring it on. Everyday something new pops up, latest is Restaurants and Bars to shut down in Los Angeles, politicians trying to one up each other to be the first to protect the public. Stay Healthy my friends. Peace.

That’s funny. I saw guy guy who was from the mountains being an asshole, probably because he’s from the mountains, and thought to myself, “Thank God these savage hillbilly yuppies are all climbing back up into the dusty hollers from whence they rolled.”

I used to have a friend from Arrowhead. She used to refer to people as “Flatlanders” as though she were from Strange Creek, West Virginia or Mooseriver, Maine and worlds removed from the impurities of the Flatlanders of San Berdoo…. till her sister blurted out she’d lived in Highland just as much as Arrowhead. She was a twat. But I guess that’s just a symptom of So Cal. Everything’s so new here, even the places we have that try to flash some sense of time worn earthy superiority are resort towns that are barely 100 years old.

Yesterday the 7 Bay Area counties went on Italy style total lockdown Santa Clara, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Marin, Santa Cruz counties. We’re approaching a real life Sci-Fi 1990’s Thriller ( Outbreak movie 1995…..Dustin Hoffman, Cuba Gooding Jr, Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman, Donald Sutherland.)
Anybody here successful at buying the stuff that’s disappeared off the shelves?
Hand sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towels, rubbing alcohol, rice & beans, bleach all gone!
