Sneks eat Angels alive in 8-1 Loss

Getting your hopes up only for them to be dashed immediately is very much how the Angels fanbase has been for a while now. This time it was in the 2nd inning. At least make it interesting through 5 or something, but no. And it had to be the Italian as well. His great story about actually being from Italy, a great WBC, constantly being sent down despite his efforts by the Angels and finally having a spot in the rotation due to injury only to absolutely shit the bed in just the 2nd inning.

Life is pain dayo. Ha… Really, peaking after the first AB of the game is sad. So, here is Neto’s home run and pretend that the game ended there, somehow.

All downhill from here

Sam Aldegheri went 3 innings, giving up 6 runs on 6 hits, striking out 1 and walking 3. That grand slam in particular ruined everything. Getting out of that only allowing some runs and not 5 makes this a different game. Not like there is anyone else who is ready to fill this rotation spot though. So he is likely to stay around for now, hopefully this will just bee a no good very bad day and that he can be good again.

Don’t throw it THERE

The offense didn’t do much of anything either, scoring more runs would at least make this a fun slugfest, but no, it was misery town yet again. At least the K rate was down, somehow. And Meckler’s one was bull and you know it.

Highlighted Neto’s Home Run again Recap

Neto’s home run from another angle.

Angels go up 1-0 in the first due to Neto leadoff HR. Then the Sneks score 5 in the 2nd and do not look back at all. Angels do pretty much nothing as the deficit grows by another in the 3rd and 2 more in the 5th because why not?

On the slimmest of silver linings that look like a bit of aluminum foil, thee bullpen did decent. Brett Kelly himself went 4 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, striking out 2 and walking 1. With Fermin’s scoreless 4th, that is 5 innings of only 2 ER. That’s… not bad for a bullpen, especially as Kerry had his MLB debut.

Secret 2nd highlight!

It was sad, and pathetic, and a series loss, which, to be fair, was the first in a bit. But at 30-45, with yet another game of scoring 2 or fewer runs, it is not fun to watch.

Upcoming

As punishment, the Angels will have to play the A’s next, a 4 game series in Sacramento. Happy Father’s Day weekend. Man, the Angels did not get Opening day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, or close the season at home. Really, 4th of July is the only one they got at the Big A.

There is plenty of time to see how things pan-out before trade deadline, so a wait and see approach is not a bad idea before pulling the trigger on trades right now.

30 wins.

I don’t think there are 30 more wins in 2026.

Except for Neto and Trout, and a little bit with Adell, there is no continuity. The line up is different everyday, as are the positions. Guys who hit sit the next day. There is no reward for performing well and no accountability when you don’t. Honestly, I wouldn’t hire Kurt to manage a McDonald’s. He appears to know absolutely nothing about leadership or management. It’s deeply frustrating and bothers me way more than losing. How do you get to be 40 years old and have no idea.

For me, to also be fair to Kurt, He has been placed in a position, with his permission of course, that he isn’t ready for and has had no development or training to do. He has no management skills and has no clue what to do or even if he’s doing something wrong. If he want’s to be manager, he needs to be a coach or a minor league manager so he can hopefully learn from his mistakes and be mentored. Right now, he’s hardly qualified to coach a little league team.

I don’t know why this keeps happening to P12 and me. We are both Colts fans and had to watch this same thing play out when Jeff Saturday was named interim coach a few years ago.

Saturday at least had the balls to hold people accountable though.

This is the part that pisses me off most of all. He is a feckless pushover. I don’t understand how anyone could have thought this spineless loser could be a leader of men.

By working in the front office and playing on this team before managing this train wreck.. Both will make you stupider.

the good: Neto ran out of the box on his homer! Finally!

We are about to get a slew of homeruns in the next few days. Trout should get 3 of them. Unfortunately we’ll give up a lot, too. Should be some 12-7, 9-8 games
