CTPG Meetup Feedback

Afternoon Angels fans. I have now organized a few of these CTPG meetups at Angel Stadium and would like some feedback on how to improve these in the future.

For example, I have seen a few comments on being unable to make it due to the day. I have chosen Saturdays in the past due to being the weekend meaning more people are likely to come, and it being a Night Game means less of a heat issue.

Saturdays however are also the most likely day it seems for people to have plans other than watching this losing Baseball team (That Swept the Dodgers anyway) in person. Which seems fair, if this team has had a winning record at least once in this site’s history, things may be different.

I have seen a comment about day games, and yes, the next meetup will be a Sunday Day game (either in September or next year) which, while I personally do not like, I realize that some people insist baseball be played during the day and I should allow for a Day Game in these meetups at least sometimes.

The Issue with Sunday games in September though is NFL Football. I am sure plenty here have an NFL team that actually wins games and are more enjoyable to watch than this Angel team (outside of games vs Dodgers). Although, I am sure there are also plenty of people who love Baseball more than football, even with how bad the team is.

Lastly, I have heard comments in the past about the ticket price. I have tried to find a balance between decent seats vs pricing and while I can get deals, I understand that some people would want as little money as possible to go to Arte.

So, I would like to ask, do you want better seats at more money, or cheaper seats? I have been aiming for the 20-30 dollar range, sitting within the poles of the 200 or 300 levels. We can certainly go lower, or much higher. Hell, if people really desire it, I can do a suite if you are willing to spend the money. (It would be a LOT of money though)

Thank you for responding.

Been to both this year and last year’s meetups. A gathering in the parking lot would be nice to mix a little and talk to everybody. I’m not picky about the seats, keeping the price down is helpful. Maybe a Friday night game? Nice to see everybody and their kiddos, too. I just wish that the Halos hadn’t gotten their asses handed to them both times. Thanks, John Henry!

Throwing it out there — I’m targeting Sunday, 9/7 vs. A’s for my last game of the season. And yes, that’s the first NFL Sunday of the season.

In general, I’m in for about any Sunday matinee.

One of these days I hope to meet you, P12!

But nothing on this planet will make me leave my house on NFL opening Sunday. I am ready to hunker down and watch SEVEN HOURS OF COMMERCIAL FREE FOOTBALL.

First of all, my family and I had a great time at the last meet-up a couple weeks ago. Thank you again for doing this!

I have some recommendations:

  • I think a more structured meet-up before the game would help quite a bit. When we showed up a couple weeks ago I had to awkwardly look around for who might be in our group or not. Love the idea of a tailgate but it could be as simple as a meeting spot in one of the picnic areas inside the stadium.
  • IF we are doing a meet-up beforehand, provide name tags so people can write their actual name and username. Great opportunity for a group photo as well.
  • Let everyone know in advance exactly which seats the group is in, so if they show up late they know which weirdos to talk to and which weirdos not to talk to.
  • As far as pricing, I was happy with the club seats for $25 at the last game. Club is great for folks like me with little kids because the crowds are so much better through the concourse on that level. No complaints here.

Thanks again, JH!

Speaking of Group photos, The last Group photo I was in was from a Race that I won.

I have the photo somewhere. I’ll post it once I find it. Great personal moment in my life. One some here may relate to.

Found it. It was a stressful race but I ultimately won! It was the 1st race I ever won. Sadly I never seen any of my fellow racers again.

My only seat location preference is NOT 400 or 500. I have a severe fear of heights, and cannot sit in those seats. Also, something to consider for the 200s between the poles is that you need the first couple of rows. Otherwise, you really can’t see anything.

This season, I have been part of the “don’t pay Arte” crowd, though I did go to a suite that blast21dave bought. I’ve also been kind of busy, and the dates have conflicted. For example, I had out of town plans for the early August get-together.

I think that earlier notice would help.

That’s a name I haven’t seen in years. Aren’t him and his son members here?

Raffle/Giveaways and a huge pass-the-cup game would make it fun. Tailgate before the game?

Shouldn’t a meet up start 15-30min before the parking lot opens, so we could Crash the Pearly Gates?

You prefer weekends and night games, try Friday night, just a suggestion. For next season set the dates in April and folks can make plans a head of time with time to plan. Maybe a Sunday day game in April or May where heat is not as big an issue. Your price point of tickets is seemingly not an issue based on how much fun it is reported that everyone is having. For those that attending maybe an issue maybe posting pictures of everyone having fun would promote a larger response. 😀

I agree. Sunday during early season, the heat is not that big of an issue. Pick seats that are in the shade and you’re definitely in good shape.
