Tuesday Night Postgame

Just one of those games. The Angels dropped Game 2 to the Rangers, 13–1, in a very tough outing where Texas’ offense broke the game open with back to back six run innings. The Halos got on the board early with a Zach Neto single followed by a Schanuel RBI knock in the 1st. After that, the bats went quiet, but Schanuel and Rengifo still managed multi hit games. Despite the loss, the bullpen was able to settle things down late, allowing no runs after the 6th. The Angels will look to bounce back in Game 3 and reclaim the momentum from their walk-off win the night before.

ooof. That was an ugly one. Are we still in “go for it” mode? When do we start hearing about how “game two in a series is the most important game in a series and the Angels have a problem with it”?

The team is still NOT GOOD. Sure they are better. Sometimes they overperform. But they will also get their asses kicked and lose close ones to better teams.

At least my boy Nolan had three hits. Otherwise turn the page…. several pages.

That’s why Newman is still employed

Newman’s ERA of 9.00 is acceptable to Angels. They’ll keep him on as a hitter, infielder, and pitcher.
Heck, they kept Jose Suarez for 1 more year, after a season in which he posted 8.29 ERA for a full season. And Suarez is a true pitcher.
