LA Angels Wednesday News Crash: And we will see you tomorrow night

Morning Angels fans. Have some links.

Angels News

There is no Angels news. There was never gonna be any Angels news.

Here, have some good memories of 2002. Suck it Bonds.

Around Baseball

Brewers fail to Sweep Rays in the World Series. It took 12 innings but the Rays won game 4 while most of their fans were asleep.

Ratings wise has been good. Really good.

Baseball is NOT dead

The hide score option on games need some improvements. Like, this spoiler thumbnail.

Using old cameras can make modern things look old. Like this one fan who took a photo with their 60’s camera.

In the year 2026…

Baseball in 2027 is TBD at the moment. But we will have a coin that has it.

Love to see the ratings were solid. Three of the four games have come down to the final at bat.

I’m rooting for Milwaukee but I wish the Rays were tied 2-2 because I love watching these two play each other.

Trade proposals for Detmers and Neto with returns.

that Detmers trade is a joke. Tong is the only person with any value

The Neto trade (value wise) makes more sense, but trading with the Dodgers is doubtful to happen without it really making it hurt for them (and prospects)

I wonder if Moz will stay around as a POBO after Kroenke completes the purchase. And then I wonder if they consider an “out of the box” GM pick …….. Hmmm, like maybe a President/GM of a minor league team like the Frisco Rough Riders? Eh, probably not, but anything is possible.

If I owned a team, I’d ask John Smoltz to be my GM.

Moz has already said he will be stepping down when his contract is over

Sounds like Moz is getting frozen out and has zero say in anything which is pretty great.

Moz will exit stage right in a few months. I do think they will pick his brain about how to set up a baseball front office and player development structure and likely his input on POBO and GM candidates.

I think in the long run Angels fans will thank Mo and Molly for starting to turn the team around but neither will be here to enjoy it.

First, Stats prove what you want them to prove. Second, it is ONLY 4 games in the post season. And the Brewers bullpen helped win 3 and helped lose 1. However.

Brewers bullpen in 4 games pitched 21 innings and gave up 4 runs. ERA about 1.715. Relievers pitched 20 of those innings. Woodruff, a starter, pitched 1 inning. The payroll for these 8 relievers in those games totals $19.981 million.

The highest paid 8 relievers in 2026 for the Angels = $23.649 Million. (All the expensive ones were gone by trading deadline or injured)

The difference in bullpen stats over the course of a full 162 games tells a similar and far more complete story.

Developing a home grown bullpen is key to success in MLB. Perry invested a ton of draft picks into it and failed miserably. Not sure if you were around here when I wrote a piece on his bullpen failures and how they ate up a ton of resources, got negative results, and were his ultimate undoing.
