Neto-san has his Naruto shirt giveaway today. You better believe it! He’s player of the week this past week and on his way for a 3rd 20-20 season. While he has his issues, Neto-san has been one of the bright spots on the team, and it is fitting that he has an anime shirt giveaway. Would be better if it was Pokemon since he likes Pikachu so much, but good luck letting Nintendo give us anything.
The other bright spot has been the young arms in the rotation. So exciting to have a good rotation, it’s been so long. Today it was Klassen, and he didn’t have his best stuff but it was the others who let him down. He went 5 and 1/3 innings giving up 3 runs (2 earned, 1 after he left the game) on 6 hits, striking out 3 and walking 3. The error was costly, leading to a run and not being able to finish the 6th, which caused 2 more runs to score when Weiman allowed a home run.
Highlighted Recap
This was a game of good defense and bad defense. First inning was good from the Angels with a throwing out of a baserunner.
Another good one as Siri making a sliding match in the 3rd.
Unfortunately, a run was allowed in that inning anyway.
It could have been worse, but the Angels picked off a runner to end the inning.
Sadly, Mike Trout also was thrown out on the base paths in the 4th, although he did rundown enough to get the runner to 2nd.
But Ball picked them up, tying the game!
Ans here comes the bad defense as a routine ball becomes a 2 base error.
And that allowed for Jo Adell to drive in an unearned run.
But hey, Siri is our Adell replacement and he made another great catch!
Klassen left in the 6th with a runner on. So of course a home run is allowed immediately.
Angels had a chance in the 6th, but gidp instead.
Angels did score again with a sac fly in the 9th.
But that was too little too late. Angels lose. Again. Life is pain dayo…
