10-4 Royals
A baseball is thrown 98+ on the corner of the plate.
A power sinker follows.
The swing.
If it hits the ground in fair territory three-tenths of the time, they’re doing solid.
It truly is difficult watching all of this happen on my little phone while I play a game on my PC, but I’m practiced. I may have really gotten into baseball a bit later in life than most, but after 12 years of blood, sweat, and tears –and dear God, were there tears–, I have really earned my place as an Angels fan.
Yet even to this very day, there are times when we run out rosters that test the very limits of my patience. Luis Rengifo and Brandon Drury were kind enough to go on the IL the day I was scheduled to write about the team, and I got to endure this:
The game didn’t go precisely as you’d expect, with Detmers pitching as if April never, ever happened, but just imagine for a second heading home from work knowing you’re going to spend the next 3 hours suffering. I mean, you can just shut off the game. Well hell, I probably could have done so myself and still written this verbatim just by glancing at the above.
The current Angels are really pushing the boundaries of what we as hardcore masochists can hope to rant passionately about. I’m impressed.
I’ll miss you angels.
I’m not watching another game until suarez is off this team.
lol @ Suarez being a breaking point. He definitely is bigger than a straw and can certainly break the camel’s back by himself.
I’m sick of watching that gummy bear sink this team 3 years in a row.
Looks like Detmers is more of a deuce 💩 than an Ace.
Detmers exemplifies the Angels starters. Consistently inconsistent.
Angels making the fan experience miserable by only having 1 security scanner open @ home plate gate.
Question is, why is anyone going to see them?
this game is what they call a “stinging indictment” of our farm system.
I believe the last 3 outs were made by Guillorme, Tucker, and Pillar. Castoff bums that Perry has picked up recently because he hasn’t rebuilt the farm. He’s had 3 full drafts to do so and yet ….well, you all know how it’s been.
We’re all gonna have a lot of free evenings this summer.
10-4, and it wasn’t even that close. Yeeesh.
Not as bad as our 4-12 home record.
