Well, there it is. After not being able to offload him at the trade deadline, Soler was DFA-ed, allowing the young players to play more often. It was not a good time for Soler in Anaheim. He slashed .208 .292 .380 with a -.05 BWAR an OPS+ of 90, and 24 total HR in his 168 games across 2025 and 2026.
But hey, at least he will always be remembered for that mound charging against the Braves.

So tomorrow we start bitching about how stupid it is to bat Grissom clean up correct?
Why? Grissom is batting .261. He’s (sadly) one of our best options.
Grissom has been our most efficient RBI guy so I think most will be OK with it. I see that we’re continuing to bat Neto at leadoff…sigh. Anyway, let’s hope that Neto (and Detmers) perform well over the next two months which would make them more attractive to potential trade suitors this offseason.

It would appear that Trout will play CF & DH for the balance of this season. I don’t think we’ll see him in LF until next season.
Either way, jettisoning Soler was the correct decision and it’s refreshing to see that our current GM is able to make logical decisions.
